It's a question most guys only dream of hearing, but one lucky cop actually got this enticing proposition on New Year’s Eve: “Would you like to kiss Jenny McCarthy?”With those seven words, the Times Square detail turned from ho-hum to va-va-voom for Officer Bekim Becaj, 26.
“Who wouldn’t!” the cop answered when staffers from “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” asked if he would lock lips on live TV with the bombshell actress.
When the clock struck midnight minutes later, McCarthy got the third-year cop’s year off to a great start.
“She fell into my arms and we had a kiss,” Becaj told the Daily News on Monday. “I thought it was just going to be a little peck on the cheek, but it was a more lengthy kiss.”
The steamy smooch seen-round-the-world appeared to last at least 15 seconds, with McCarthy grabbing the back of Becaj’s cap — and kicking up her leg as the 9th Precinct cop clutched it.
“How would you rate my kiss from one to 10?” a beaming McCarthy asked Becaj right after their smooch.
“I would absolutely give it a 10,” he said.
“Did you see fireworks, because I did?” McCarthy asked.
“I didn’t see fireworks, but I think you might have given me some,” the cop replied.
Becaj said his cellphone wouldn’t stop ringing after family and friends saw his Romeo act.
And when he returned to his precinct on Monday after a day off, colleagues gave Becaj some friendly ribbing, posting pictures of him and the honey-haired stunner.
NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Becaj isn’t in any hot water for the on-air kiss.
“Whoever was next to her New Year’s Eve was going to get smooched,” Browne said.
Becaj sounds comfortable with his new-found fame as a ladies man.
“I’m single and I really don’t mind anyone knowing that,” he said.
But the on-air sparks between McCarthy and her boy in blue may not have died down just yet.
On the “Today” show Monday, McCarthy had this message for her favorite cop: “If he’s out there, will you please get a hold of me?” she said. “I thought it was really cute and really sweet.”
“I loved it!” she added.
